Mouth Guard

A Dentist in Kent says “it is very important for athletes who play contact sports to wear mouth guards.”  A mouth Guard is the best way to protect the teeth, tongue and overall mouth when playing sports. Many athletes who play hockey and other sports similar have missing teeth because of their negligence in using the mouth guard. When used you are better protected. Here is how to make the mouth guard fit your mouth.

There are two things you need when molding the mouth guard to your teeth, a bowl of boiling water and a bowel of cold water too. You place the mouth guard in the boiling water for about thirty seconds. It will look a little bland. Then take it out of the hot water and put it in the cold water. It is in there for about a second when you should pull it out. Put the mouth piece in your mouth and gently bite down. The mouth guard has now been molded to your teeth.

The dentist in Kent says that as long as you use a mouth piece you should never lose a tooth while playing sports. After having read these instructions, there is no excuse why you don’t wear a mouth piece. All professional athletes wear them. So follow their example and wear one too.
